Produced by Ford UK, this model replaced the 100E and stood out for its modern styling, inspired by the American cars of the time.
The most striking feature of the Anglia 105E is the inward-sloping (reversed) rear window, similar to that of the Lincoln Continental, which, according to Ford, offered better visibility and headroom.
The more luxurious Deluxe models stood out for their generous chrome front grille and round headlights.
A 997 cc, four-cylinder in-line engine, known as the ‘Kent’, was more modern and efficient than the side-valve engine of the previous model.
Four-speed manual gearbox.
This car has been in the family since 1968 and was used for many years as a day to day car. During the 1980s and 1990s, it stood unused, and it was then that the current owner restored it, between 1998 and 2000. Since then, it has brought a smile to many faces as it drives through the streets of Funchal.
