Training session: “Inclusive Education: educating everyone with everyone”

On the 22nd of February 2018, last Thursday, another training session took place in the framework of the “Dialogues on Education”, whose targets were, not only the school inspectors, but also principals of education institutions, principals of lower primary school (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades), school delegates and staff from executive boards of higher primary school (5th and 6th grades), lower secondary school (7th, 8th and 9th grades) and higher secondary school. 22-02-2018 Inspeção Regional Educação
Training session: “Inclusive Education: educating everyone with everyone”

In the sequence of the “Dialogues on Education” and according to the Regional Inspectorate of Education´s activities plan, namely the program 7 – knowledge and management training – skills development, the session about “Inclusive Education: educating everyone with everyone” took place on the 22nd of February, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., at the auditorium of the Empresa de Eletricidade da Madeira, with Professor David Rodrigues.

 

David Rodrigues, PhD, is a Professor of Special Education. He took his doctorate in 1986 in Universidade Técnica de Lisboa – Faculdade de Motricidade Humana (Lisbon Technical University – Human Motricity Faculty), with a thesis on children with cerebral paralysis. He coordinated the Special Education Master (1991) and the Expressive Therapies Course (1999) in the same University. He lectured at Portuguese universities (Oporto, Coimbra, Lisbon and Azores) and at foreign universities (namely KU Leuven, Campinas and Florianópolis). He is a lecturer in international congresses and in initiatives of UNESCO (namely in Russia, Lithuania, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Colombia and Brazil). He is author/organizer of 23 books and belongs to the editorial council of 12 scientific magazines in Portugal and abroad. He is the President of Pró-Inclusão – Associação Nacional de Docentes de Educação Especial (Pro-Inclusion – National Association of Special Education Teachers), founder of the magazine Educação Inclusiva (Inclusive Education) and teaches and coordinates the Master’s degree course in Special Education of the ESSE Jean Piaget (Almada).
