The vehicle was purchased in the country of origin, Italy, and has not needed much tinkering. It happened more at the level of painting.
The Fiat 500 is known as Topolino. It is a car model manufactured by Italian Fiat, between 1936 and 1955. Almost 520,000 were sold. The affectionate name literally translates to ‘little mouse’ in Italian, but it is also the designation, in that country, for the famous Mickey Mouse.
The model has the particularity of having been one of the smallest cars in the world at the time of its production. It presented competitive prices, although, initially, Fiat admitted that it would be cheaper. The Topolino, launched in 1937, had 3 models until 1955, all with minor mechanical and cosmetic changes.
It came with a 4-cylinder engine, with valves on the side of the block, with a water-cooled engine mounted in front of the front axle of 569 cc. For that reason, it was produced on a large scale. In technical terms, the radiator was installed behind the engine, thus allowing a more aerodynamic profile, a competitive advantage, especially considering that the competition had an almost vertical flat grille. This option allowed for great forward visibility. The car has an engine power of around 13 hp and its top speed is around 85 km/h.
